The Boy and the Heron

Silent Night

A grieving father enacts his long-awaited revenge against a ruthless gang on Christmas Eve. Stars Joel Kinnaman, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Kid Cudi. Rated R for strong bloody violence, drug use and some language.

The Holdovers

A cranky history teacher at a remote prep school is forced to remain on campus over the holidays with a troubled student who has no place to go. Stars Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Dominic Sessa. Rated R for language, some drug use and brief sexual material.

The Marsh King’s Daughter

A young mother must confront her long-buried past as the child of a kidnapper and the girl he held captive when her father breaks out of prison. Convinced he intends to take her daughters, she sets out to find and kill him herself. Stars Daisy Ridley, Ben Mendelsohn, and Brooklynn Prince. Rated R for violence.

What Happens Later

Willa and Bill are ex-lovers that will see each other for the first time in years when they both find themselves snowed in, in-transit, at an airport overnight. Stars Meg Ryan, David Duchovny, and Hal Liggett. Rated R for language, some sexual references and brief drug use.

Inspector Sun

Inspector Sun boards a seemingly normal plane for a much-needed vacation, but when an enigmatic millionaire receives a threat on his life, Sun is back on the case. Trapped in a web of lies, Sun must find the culprit before it’s too late. Stars Jesús Barreda, Andrea Villaverde, and Catherina Martínez. Rated PG for action and some suggestive material.

Halloween (1978)

Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again. Stars Donald Pleasence, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tony Moran. Rated R.

Wish

Wish will follow a young girl named Asha who wishes on a star and gets a more direct answer than she bargained for when a trouble-making star comes down from the sky to join her. Stars Evan Peters, Chris Pine, and Ariana DeBose. Rated PG for thematic elements and mild action.

Napoleon

The film takes a personal look at Napoleon Bonaparte’s origins, and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor viewed through the prism of his addictive, and often volatile, relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine. Stars Vanessa Kirby, Ludivine Sagnier, and Joaquin Phoenix. Rated R for strong violence, some grisly images, sexual content and brief language.

Thanksgiving

After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday. Stars Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon, and Patrick Dempsey. This film is not yet rated.
